Meet our employee spotlight, Liisa Doty! Liisa was born and raised in western Washington. Her love for the natural environment and its intricate workings drove her to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from Huxley College at Western Washington University. There she received the Outstanding Undergraduate Research Award. She has been a Certified Professional in Stormwater Quality and Erosion & Sediment Control (CPSWQ/CPESC) for over 15 years.
After dabbling in water quality entrepreneurship, as co-owner of a WBE environmental consulting company, Liisa joined the WaterTectonics team in 2003 as our Regulatory Manager and then added National Construction Accounts Manager to her responsibilities. She’s been involved in over 400 projects in the Pacific Northwest and beyond providing consulting services, water treatment planning and regulatory expertise. Additional areas of focus include project management, treatment system application and design, lab scale treatability studies, permit writing, regulatory review, and treatment system implementation.
Liisa provides educational training sessions to clients, partners and engineering firms who have an interest in site specific operator training, certification and general water management solutions. She develops and manages internal ongoing education programs regarding regulatory compliance and environmental issues. She has authored numerous industry studies, conference papers and presentations over her career. She’s also involved with the AGC Educational Foundation as an instructor of the Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead (CESCL) course.
When not working, Liisa enjoys road tripping, spending time outdoors with her husband & two teenagers and Mexican food – bring on the Guac!
