Whitefish River Remediation - Dredge Effluent Return Water

Facing strict water discharge limits and oversight from multiple government agencies and environmental groups, Granite Construction selected WaterTectonics to provide a turnkey water treatment system for processing dredge effluent return water. This early-phase remediation project of the Whitefish River involved 750 linear feet of sheet-pile cofferdam isolating affected river sediments. Dewatering activities occurred prior to and through 6-48″ of sediment shoreline removal. Known contamination included degraded diesel fuel, Bunker C, turbidity, and heavy metals. WaterTectonics deployed a single 300gpm WaveIonics treatment system for this project and met all requirements of MTDEQ discharge with most critical parameters registering at non-detect levels.
