Washington State Fire Training Academy - Fire Training Wastewater

The Washington State Fire Training Academy (FTA) provides training, collaboration and support to fire departments and other public safety professionals at their facilities in North Bend, WA. The facility operates a closed loop process water system for use in fire training activities. The facility previously utilized a below-grade, oil/water unit for separation of oil & grease compounds prior to reuse of the training water.

As part of an effort to upgrade the removal efficiency of the system, WaterTectonics was contracted to design and manufacture a 1200 gallon per minute water treatment system that incorporated chemical dosing, a pipe flocculator and dissolved air flotation. The system utilized an Allen-Bradley MCC and control panel, integrated controls for an on-site aeration system, and also incorporated telemetry and SCADA integration with existing site systems.
