This tube manufacturing facility worked with large quantities of zinc galvanized material that generated high concentration of dissolved zinc in its stormwater runoff. The facility had previously deployed a system that utilized media-based treatment, but the system had high operating costs due to frequent media change-outs. When the facility was required to treat runoff from a new portion of their facility, they looked around for new options. WaterTectonics develop a low-cost approach that didn’t rely on costly media change-outs and instead targeted the soluble fraction of dissolved zinc through pH adjustment, coagulation, and clarification.
