“The Eight” is one of Skanska’s newest projects. Located on the corner of 108th Avenue NE and NE 8th Street in downtown Bellevue, Skanska plans to develop a 500,000+ square foot, 25-story office tower with 5 underground parking levels and approximately 850 parking spaces. In addition, the building will also house roughly 12,000 square feet of ground floor retail space. The project will target LEED Platinum and Wired Platinum certifications. Construction is scheduled to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2023.
Skanska brought in WaterTectonics to procure permits NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) and KCIW (King County Industrial Waste) permits, write the SWPPP (Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan), and Turbidity Monitoring Plan. To ensure compliance with these permits and to meet Administrative Orders for petroleum products, metals, VOCs, and PAHs, WaterTectonics provided a CESF (chitosan enhanced sand filtration) and GAC (granular activated carbon) system and continued daily turbidity monitoring during the wet season as required by City of Bellevue.
