Watertectonics was invited to review an existing water treatment system, at a Tacoma, Washington pole and lumber facility, that was out of date and inconsistent discharge compliance. A treatability study and pilot were performed to select, confirm, and optimize the best treatment process to meet specific discharge compliance. A containerized 600gpm WaveIonics electrocoagulation (EC) automated unit and clarification system was selected and installed in 2018. Existing source tank(s), media filtration, and granular activated carbon (GAC) were also incorporated into the design engineering process.
