Sound Transit MOW Facility - Construction Stormwater

The new 26,500 square foot Sound Transit Light Rail Maintenance facility houses equipment associated with light rail system equipment, tracks, and associated right-of-way. During construction, WaterTectonics was contacted by Forma Construction Company for help with the treatment of contaminated groundwater and construction stormwater.

WaterTectonics designed and provided a treatment system utilizing electrocoagulation (EC) technology followed by granular activated carbon (GAC) that could handle continuous flowrates of up to 100gpm. Operations lasted six months with no safety issues and zero non-compliant discharges.
