As WaterTectonics’ first permanent international installation and also its first installation in the metal galvanizing business, Pure Metal Galvanizing in Brantford, Ontario represented two important milestones for WaterTectonics. Active in the industry group that supported galvanizing companies, WaterTectonics was confident its WaveIonics system could capably and efficiently address the stormwater challenges facing the industry – and Pure Metal Galvanizing agreed. WaterTectonics designed and built a 50gpm WaveIonics stormwater treatment system for this application with the primary purpose of removing zinc from the stormwater runoff. WaterTectonics worked alongside the client’s engineer and contractor throughout the installation process to help ensure that all design and construction activity would work with the proposed treatment system. Because of the extreme temperature swings in the winter, the client opted to house the system in a metal prefab building, a much more inexpensive option than applying freeze-protection measures to all of the external equipment. WaterTectonics is proud to serve its Canadian neighbors and the metal galvanizing industry and looks forward to continued partnerships in both areas.
