Overlake Medical Center is in the midst of a six-phase campus expansion. This project, dubbed futureCARE, is a $242 million investment aimed at better serving the healthcare needs of the rapidly growing Eastside community. WaterTectonics was brought in by General Contractor, GLY Construction, to handle the treatment of groundwater and construction site stormwater during construction of the new parking garage and tower construction.
A 300gpm WaveIonics electrocoagulation unit was used to control pH and reduce turbidity to levels that are acceptable for discharge. The process is completely automated and includes real-time water quality monitoring, data logging, and a water quality re-circulation valve that ensures effluent water meets user-defined discharge criteria before leaving the system. In Washington state, the system is approved as a General Use Level Designation (GULD) technology for automated operations.
