New England Rock Quarry – Stormwater Treatment Retrofit

This east coast rock quarry had an old water treatment system that needed upgrading in order to improve end of pipe water quality. WaterTectonics worked with the client to evaluate the current system, design a treatability study, and propose a retrofit solution to meet the client’s goals. WaterTectonics determined that the client’s existing clarification system was undersized and that floc was carrying over into the client’s effluent. WaterTectonics designed, built, and installed a media filtration system with automated backwashing capabilities to capture and remove the carryover floc, improving end of pipe suspended solids and turbidity values.
