WaterTectonics provided an industrial stormwater treatment solution for a new 25+ acre metal recycling facility in the Midwest. Designed as a greenfield development, the site prioritized environmental responsibility from the outset, incorporating advanced systems to treat and monitor water and air quality, among other initiatives.
To meet these goals, WaterTectonics engineered a 725 GPM treatment system, combining chemical treatment with media filtration, capable of addressing the complex and variable nature of industrial stormwater generated from metal recycling operations. Runoff from the site was expected to have elevated levels of total suspended solids (TSS), turbidity, metals, and oils, requiring a robust and adaptable treatment approach.
By implementing a comprehensive stormwater treatment strategy, the facility can operate more sustainably, reducing environmental impact while supporting critical operational needs. The project highlights WaterTectonics’ ability to deliver scalable, high-flow solutions for large industrial sites with complex compliance and sustainability goals.
