WaterTectonics worked as part of a multi-vendor team to design and implement this 200gpm WaveIonics electrocoagulation (EC) stormwater treatment system for Metro Metals Northwest, a pioneer among environmentally efficient scrap processors, in Portland, OR. Having purchased two WaveIonics systems for other locations, WaterTectonics had already established a strong relationship with Metro Metals when the company went out to bid for their third water treatment system. Working alongside the client’s engineering and consulting team, WaterTectonics was successful in its bid to provide a comprehensive solution for Metro Metals’ Portland facility. Located on the Columbia River slough, and with one of the most stringent permits issued by Oregon’s Department of Environmental Quality, WaterTectonics knew that Metro Metals needed a solution that was in line with its corporate culture of environmentally safe practices and would put them in compliance with their COLS industrial stormwater permit. WaterTectonics had both the capability and the personnel capacity to provide the type of project support required for this project, from coordination of work activities with multiple subcontractors, to providing detailed drawing sets as related to mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and structural layouts, and to performing lab and field scale analysis of system performance prior to, during, and after installation.
