Mercer West - Emergency Mobile Water Treatment

The Mercer Corridor Project West Phase (Mercer West) improves a major east-west arterial bottleneck by creating a continuous two-way street from Interstate 5 (I-5) to Elliott Avenue West. WaterTectonics was contacted by Atkinson Construction for rapid response in treating water at the Mercer West project site in Seattle. With onsite turbidity preventing discharge and trucking off water not keeping up, Atkinson chose to lease a skidded UltraFlo ultrafiltration system with automated controls, filtration pump, flow meter, backflush tank and pump. WaterTectonics treated 120,000 gallons of water in a single day, including mobilization and demobilization, with discharge within Construction Stormwater General Permit (CSWGP) limits.
