WaterTectonics was contacted by a metal recycling facility for assistance in achieving stormwater discharge benchmarks at their 25+ acre site on the east coast of the United States. The customer was looking to reduce total suspended solids (TSS), chemical oxygen demand (COD) and heavy metals from their stormwater runoff. WaterTectonics designed and installed a 100 gallon per minute WaveIonics electrocoagulation system to assist in meeting these goals. An automated operator system incorporated control and adjustment of all system processes to a single touch-screen interface, and a water quality discharge valve was utilized to ensure that all effluent water met operator-defined standards prior to final discharge.
