Ryan Companies partnered with Group Health Cooperative and the city of Renton to build two state-of-the-art facilities for Group Health that will provide space for administrative, lab, pharmacy fulfillment and warehouse operations. During the early stages of construction dewatering, Ryan Companies contacted WaterTectonics for assistance. This particular 12 acre project had high levels of dissolved iron in the groundwater that when exposed to atmosphere was oxidized. The oxidized iron elevated turbidity above surface water discharge benchmarks. We implemented a 100gpm AcistBox chemical treatment system along with 24/7 field technician operators which ended up costing less than discharging to the sanitary sewer. Over 40 million gallons of water were processed over three months with no safety issues and zero non-compliant discharges.
