The Gilboa Dam reconstruction stands as one of the most critical infrastructure projects impacting New York City’s water supply system. This $350 million rehabilitation effort aimed to extend the dam’s lifespan by 50 to 100 years, ensuring compliance with updated state and federal standards while safeguarding the region’s water resources.

Given the challenges of high labor costs and the potential environmental risks associated with chemical treatments, the project’s prime contractor, Barnard Construction, partnered with WaterTectonics to deliver a smarter, safer stormwater treatment solution. Together, we deployed a cutting-edge WaveIonics electrocoagulation system capable of treating up to 800 gallons per minute. This fully automated, non-chemical solution effectively managed construction stormwater while aligning with sustainability goals and stringent regulatory requirements.
