A new food production facility in Bakersfield, California integrated a Dynamic Scale Remover (DSR) system into its cooling water system as part of the facility’s initial construction. By incorporating advanced electrochemical water treatment from the start, the project was able to support more sustainable cooling tower operation without requiring a retrofit of existing infrastructure.
The Dynamic Scale Remover (DSR) system was designed to improve cooling water performance while minimizing reliance on traditional chemical treatment. By controlling scale formation and supporting higher cycles of concentration, the system helps reduce water consumption, cooling tower blowdown, and makeup water demand while supporting the facility’s sustainability goals.
Implemented as part of a greenfield project, the installation demonstrates how sustainable water management technologies can be incorporated early in facility planning to support long-term operational efficiency, sustainability, water conservation, and reduced chemical use.
