WaterTectonics designed and delivered a custom low-flow pH adjustment system to support a confidential client’s process water treatment needs in Charlotte, North Carolina. The project required a highly specialized solution capable of treating just 12 gallons per hour while maintaining a compact footprint and meeting an accelerated delivery timeline.

The original treatment approach did not fully account for the extent of pH variability in the water stream. To address this, WaterTectonics developed a standalone pilot system that could be integrated as an add-on, providing precise pH control without disrupting existing operations. The system was engineered to handle significant pH swings, ensuring consistent and reliable adjustment within the required discharge criteria.

Due to the nature of the chemical reaction involved, the pH adjustment process generated a notable amount of heat. To maintain stable operating conditions and protect system performance, the design incorporated a dedicated cooling loop. This feature allowed the system to safely manage thermal impacts while maintaining treatment efficiency and process control.

The result is a compact, purpose-built solution that demonstrates WaterTectonics’ ability to rapidly develop and deploy customized treatment systems for unique and challenging water chemistry conditions, even at very low flow rates.
