Construction Stormwater Compliance in Washington
This practical session explores construction stormwater compliance under Washington’s Construction Stormwater General Permit (CSWGP), connecting permit requirements with real world implementation. Attendees will gain an understanding of the permitting process, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs), Best Management Practices (BMPs), monitoring requirements, and treatment system considerations.
The presentation will also cover BMP selection, treatment system sizing, basic treatment chemistry, and operation and maintenance best practices. Real project examples will demonstrate how compliance strategies are applied in the field, helping attendees understand the decision making process from planning through implementation.

Meet our Summer Employee Spotlight: Charlotte Parry & Eve Trapnell!
This summer, we’re excited to welcome two talented engineering students to the WaterTectonics team. After meeting Charlotte and Eve at the University of Washington College of the Environment Career Fair, we knew they would be great additions to our engineering team. Throughout the summer, they’ve been gaining hands on experience while working alongside our engineers on real world water treatment projects while developing new technical skills and exploring different areas of engineering.
Charlotte Parry joined WaterTectonics as a Controls Engineering Intern. Drawn to the company’s innovative approach to wastewater treatment, she’s been expanding her skills in PLC programming, HMI integration, software testing, and troubleshooting while gaining experience across multiple software platforms and projects. Charlotte has especially enjoyed the variety of work and exposure to different aspects of the engineering process (and says the office dogs have been an unexpected highlight!). Looking ahead, she hopes to work on ocean sensing technologies that help predict and mitigate the effects of climate change. Outside of work, she writes for The Daily, the University of Washington’s student newspaper.
Eve Trapnell joined WaterTectonics as a Mechanical Engineering Intern after connecting with our team at the UW career fair. Excited by the opportunity to expand her CAD experience, Eve has been developing new skills in Autodesk Inventor and welding while supporting a variety of engineering projects. She’s been most impressed by the collaborative culture at WaterTectonics and hopes to one day build a career focused on clean energy and environmental solutions. Outside of work, Eve enjoys cooking, baking, pickleball, and scrapbooking.
At WaterTectonics, we’re proud to support the next generation of engineers by providing opportunities to learn, collaborate, and contribute to meaningful work.
