pH Adjustment
Overview
What is pH Adjustment?
pH adjustment systems involve the addition of acids or bases in order to adjust pH to a desirable range for reuse or discharge.
How it Works
Treatment for pH requires neutralizing the solution in the preferred direction by either adding an acid or base to the water. Depending on the level of pH adjustment needed, weak acids and bases or strong acids and bases can be used. Multiple factors need to be considered in system design, including the buffering nature of the water, need for single or multi-directional adjustment, and designing for gross & trim control points. Once appropriate chemistries are selected and process controls are designed, we build systems in a variety of configurations to meet the design requirements.
