Chemical Treatment
Overview
What is Chemical Treatment?
Chemical treatment includes a broad range of treatment options that involve injecting chemicals into water under controlled conditions to generate a desired set of reactions. These systems include delivery of liquid, dry, and concentrated (via makedown systems) chemicals.
How it Works
Water is collected in a source tank or pond and pumped through the system by a treatment pump. Influent water quality can be analyzed for real-time parameters to influence dose rates. Chemicals may be stored inside or outside of a treatment enclosure. As water is pumped, chemicals are injected into the water using automated and adjustable dosing pumps. Various mixing techniques may be integrated into the system as well in the form of pipe flocculators, mechanical mixers, and other devices.
