For over 100 years, Seattle Children’s Hospital has provided critical pediatric and adolescent medical treatment to the largest landmass of any children’s hospital in the country (Washington, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho). In order to keep up with a region growth rate of 21%, the hospital is working to expand its current 250 bed capacity to between 500 and 600 beds by the year 2030. Sellen Construction constructed this new 330,000 square foot, 8-story expansion project that will provide immediate room for an expanded cancer care wing and new critical care unit. WaterTectonics provided water treatment systems and services to Sellen Construction throughout the construction process. Sellen Construction utilized a 300gpm WaveIonics electrocoagulation system to treat stormwater runoff from the construction area before discharging into nearby Lake Washington.
