As WaterTectonics’ first major operation in the oil and gas industry, this project marked a significant step forward in WaterTectonics’ ability to deliver robust technology that was capable of operating in harsh conditions on a consistent basis. This centralized treatment facility located in central Texas was used to recycle flowback and produced water from shale gas completion operations. The WaveIonics electrocoagulation system was used to remove total suspended solids, metals, and hydrocarbons from the water to produce a clean brine effluent. During some phases, this clean brine was also sent to a reverse osmosis system (also operated by WaterTectonics) for secondary treatment to produce fresh water for completion processes.
